The United States (US) had expressed concern at Pakistan’s differing position at the United Nations (UN) on US interests, revealed a previously unreleased WikiLeaks cable. The cable written by former US ambassador to the UN, John Bolton and dated June 6, 2006 (reference no. 66945), places Pakistan along with India, Brazil and South Africa and calls it “one of a handful of countries” routinely opposing the US, despite having strong ties with the country.
