This past weekend, I spoke to a Hadassah meeting – the Women’s Zionist Organization of America. The subject, of my choosing, was “What’s a ‘nice Jewish girl’ doing writing so much about Islam?”

 

The easy answer to the question I’d self-imposed was “Why not?” A perfectly reasonable answer, perhaps, but not with bigots like Peter King about to begin his witch hunt this week in the form of congressional hearings on the alleged “radicalization” of American Muslims.

Yesterday, Fox News proved yet again that it’s a credible (*cough*) news source by publishing a story they thought was real news. The article ran on the Fox Nation website with this title, “Pakistan: Islamic Clerics Protest Women Wearing Padded Bras as ‘Devil’s Cushions,’” noting (via Salon):

Reporter Richard Pepplatt has resigned from the Daily Star newspaper, with a Dear Richard letter challenging owner Richard Desmond to do more to stop the newspaper making up news stories and fuelling tension with a hostile agenda towards British Muslims, while doing more than any other newspaper to champion and promote the English Defence League.
