The Delhi Metro has become the first rail system in the world to earn ‘carbon credits’ under a United Nations scheme. The credits were given by the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM), which gives firms in developing countries an incentive to cut greenhouse gases.

The Afghan Taliban on Tuesday attacked US allegations that Pakistan supported the Haqqani network as a plot to undermine the militant unity. After a spectacular assault on the US embassy and Nato headquarters in Kabul in mid-September, senior US officials openly accused Pakistan’s intelligence agency of ties to the Haqqani group.

As recently highlighted by The Guardian, the ugly reality of the English Defence League has been exposed in a newly-published report by Dr Matthew Feldman and Dr Paul Jackson at Northampton University’s Radicalism and New Media Research Group. The report was formally released during a major international conference recently hosted by the RNM; it is based on extensive independent research and is a truly brilliant analysis of all aspects of the EDL. The results are damning to say the least.

Divorce and living together pre-marriage still seem fairly uncommon in India (let's not even touch on the rest of the subcontinet) though Omar Abdullah seems to be ending his marriage to marry a divorcee journalist, who’s had two live-in relationships (that should be a huge step forward for this sort of thing in India I guess).
